Grounded calm - Moon in Taurus 11/27 - 11/29

Entry: Thursday the 26th at 10:42pm EST / Friday the 27th at 3:42am UTC.

Departure: Sunday the 29th at 11:15am EST / 4:15pm UTC.

Moon in Taurus: This is the moon’s exaltation - a very positive place for the Moon where she and her significations are lifted up and greatly supported. Physical work and care of the body are each very effective during this time. The Moon herself is also more benefic during this period, making this a good time to do lunar magic and workings.

Triplicity and Quadruplicity: Fixed Earth. Fixedness indicates prolonged activities and an overall steadiness in people’s moods. The Moon in fixed signs makes activities more stable and their duration longer. The earth element emphasizes the physical body and propensity for work, and the Moon in an earth sign often expresses more practicality, groundedness, and a concern for the material world.

Moon’s ruler: Venus. The Moon is opposed to Venus, who is currently in Scorpio. The Moon will have support in grounding her significations, and this fact coupled with the fixedness of the sign ensures that long-term goals will take you far. The Moon-Venus opposition on its own creates some tension with other people and difficulties around emotional vulnerability. Obstacles and roadblocks arise with the arts and creativity - it is harder to hear the muses.

Relationship to the Sun: Aversion to the Sun in Sagittarius. This is a neutral relationship. The outer world, environment, and circumstances will not get in your way, but it will not overtly help you either.

Aspects

  • Opposition to Mercury in Scorpio. There is a great amount of difficulty expressing ourselves with language, and our thoughts and ideas will be less clear. You may find communication to be more difficult, with words getting stuck in your throat and people around you either misunderstanding you or unnecessarily disagreeing.

  • Inferior Earth Trine to Jupiter in Capricorn: Support from teachers and authority figures. Emotional buoyancy and grace for lessons. Potential for abundance and financial success. Not the greatest amount of support, though, considering Jupiter’s current state of Fall in Capricorn.

  • Inferior Earth Trine to Saturn in Capricorn: Light obstacles and roadblocks - ones that are ultimately productive and become learning experiences - open doors to walk through. Expect a natural sense of caution and greater predisposition for calculating your steps and planning carefully.

Summary: Moon in Taurus has a lot to offer us: physical abundance, propensity for work and persistence, and the opportunity to really nourish and take care of yourself. Given the two trines from Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn, as well as the aspect from her ruler and the fixed nature of the sign, this will be an excellent time to make great strides in whatever you choose to do. Both the inward, self-care side and the outward structure-building and organizational side are supported here.
