Abstraction and contemplation - Moon in Gemini 12/26 - 12/29

Entry: Saturday the 26th at 6:32pm EST / 11:32pm UTC.

Departure: Tuesday the 29th at 5:28am EST / 10:28am UTC.

Moon in Gemini: Place of Sectmate- the Moon is in a foreign place without much aid. Very heady, intellectually stimulating. Conversation, connection with other people, trying to get a million things done, glibness. Can create anxiety and nervous tension, easy to get overwhelmed.

Triplicity and Quadruplicity: Bicorporeal Air. Bicorporeality indicates activities and moods which are a mean between the extremes of tropicality (cardinality) and fixedness, not as erratic and changing as the former, but not as solid and steady as the latter. The air element promotes mental stimulation and any activities which involve communication and language, and air Moons tend to be very chatty and conversational, preferring discussion and the medium of language to anything else.

Moon’s ruler: Mercury. The Moon is averse to her ruler Mercury in Capricorn. This can make the Gemini-moon period more ungrounded, and there is greater difficulty grounding the work done here and turning it into long-lasting results.

Relationship to the Sun: Aversion to the Sun in Capricorn. This is a neutral placement. Your circumstances will not support you in any profound way, but they won’t pull you down either.

Aspects

  • Bicorporeal Opposition to Venus in Sagittarius. Issues arising in relationships. Friction between you and others as your own emotional needs and wants come into conflict with what other people want from you or expect of you. Troubles with creativity and kindness in general.

  • Inferior Sextile to Mars in Aries. Positive energy for productivity, making positive strides. More initiative, more inspiration, and more enthusiasm.

  • Inferior Air Trine to Jupiter in Aquarius. The square from the last period has relaxed into a trine. Help and support from authority figures. This shows up especially through conversation and dialogue due to the airy nature of the trine. Emotional buoyancy, good luck, and a potential for financial opportunities to develop.

  • Inferior Air Trine to Saturn in Aquarius. The square from the last period has relaxed into a trine. Hard lessons come through which effectively push people closer towards maturity and wisdom. Difficult experiences that teach you something profound and ultimately make you thankful for them. Slightly greater propensity for rumination and thought-loops, due to the airy nature of the trine.

Summary: If you have been looking for an opportunity to detach from results and take a break from building towards long-term objectives, now is an excellent time to do so. The Moon is averse to both her ruler and the Sun. This makes this period less a time for playing the long-game and trying to be extraordinarily productive and effective in the world, and more a good opportunity to engage in activities without an agenda. As I said last month, the Gemini-Moon period has a natural penchant for exploration, open-mindedness, and inquisitiveness. Try some new things. Download a bunch of PDF’s and read through some of them, or go for some walks. Don’t get hung up on things going your way. Take a break from your agenda - you’ll be much happier and enjoy your life more during this period as a result.
