Joy in non-doing - Moon in Pisces 6/1 - 6/3

THE GOOD

With the Pisces Moon, the Queen of Heaven enters into a chapel, or a zendo, or some similar kind of contemplative, quiet atmosphere. Here the Moon is hosted by Jupiter, Lord of Priests and Pontiffs, in his yin, feminine manifestation as opposed to his more masculine manifestation in Sagittarius. Intuition, dreamtime, psychic awareness, and the profoundly felt sense that we are all connected deep down - these are the things that the cosmic mother teaches us during her stay in this zodiacal sign.

This is not the time to push your will onto the world. This is a time to cease from doing and remember the truths of life that really matter. Take this as a time to reconnect to the profundity of life that put you on a spiritual path in the first place. Return to the beginner’s mind.

The Moon forms a glorious conjunction her ruler, Jupiter, in Pisces. This is about as good as it gets for a Pisces period - Jupiter’s essential dignity bestows vast quantities of grace and support to the Moon, especially in the emotional realm. This an excellent time to do some deep excavation of your emotional life, or rest quietly and practice gratitude for the joy of being alive. In fact, this is about all you’ll be able to do, because…

THE BAD

We have to contend with three squares during this period as well, the most problematic being the square to the Sun. This creates roadblocks, tension, obstacles, and general frustration. The divine lovers are quarrelling now, and everything slows down and gets backed up as a result. Things happen much more slowly, and it can be difficult to make headway in life.

The squares to Venus and Mercury will make conversation and relating with others more challenging. Pisces can be a very interpersonal sign, but you may have to do things more on your own for this lunar period. You are being asked to slow down - do things need to happen as quickly as you think?

THE WYRD

According to the PGM (Greek Magical Papyri), this an excellent time for prediction and fortune-telling. This is a great period to have an astrology, tarot, I Ching, or any other kind of intuitive reading. It’s also a great time to give that kind of reading, as you will be more connected to the divine. This makes sense - the internal, more ecstatic, yin sign of the God of Priests (Jupiter) would naturally lend itself to sudden clarity and foreknowledge.

With the Moon occupying a sign ruled by Jupiter on his day (Thursday) during the sunrise hour of Jupiter, I would recommend doing some Jupiter magic during this time, on June 3rd. The whole-sign conjunction that the Moon forms to Jupiter will greatly amplify this.

Remember, everything I tell you has to be indexed to your own time lord periods such as annual profections and zodiacal releasing. The transits will also affect you differently depending on your rising sign and the derivative house placements in your chart. You can book a session with me to help you with that if you don’t know how to do it on your own!

Moon in Pisces: Peregrine. Without any essential dignity, though not in her detriment or fall. The Moon continues to be somewhat unsteady, but this is an excellent period for emotional exploration and self-care. Free-form journaling, walks that have no specific destination in mind, and other practices or rituals that help you to get in touch with your own emotional center will be greatly supported here. Visions may also come to you, as Pisces is, by far, the zoidion which is most overtly connected to the other side.

Triplicity and Quadruplicity: Bicorporeal Water. Bicorporeality indicates activities and moods which are a mean between the extremes of tropicality (cardinality) and fixedness, not as erratic and changing as the former, but not as solid and steady as the latter. The water element emphasizes the emotional and inner life, and people tend to prioritize their own inner states and unconsciousness patterns. The atmosphere takes a very reflective tone.

Moon’s ruler: Conjunction to Jupiter in Pisces. Alleluia! The Moon is supported, protected and grounded by her ruler Jupiter in Pisces. This level of support is really special - the essential dignity of Jupiter in Pisces provides a lot of good fortune.

Relationship to the Sun: Superior Fixed Square to the Sun in Gemini. This is a challenging placement. You will find consistent roadblocks, obstacles, and difficulties coming from outer situations and circumstances to frustrate your will. As is usual with this alignment, just be patient and remember that it won’t be long before these key planets form a positive aspect again.

Aspects

  • Superior Fixed Square to Mercury in Gemini. Communication will be stifled, and dialogue between people and the exploration of thoughts and ideas will happen with greater struggle and resistance.

  • Superior Fixed Square to Venus in Gemini. Interpersonal harmony is weakened, people are less kind and agreeable towards each other.

  • Superior Water Trine to Mars in Cancer. Internal frustration, anger, and irritability will be very pronounced. You will feel a lot of initiative towards changing your circumstances and pushing through resistances, but there will also be a danger of burnout.
