THE GOOD

Sag Moon opens up opportunities to get creative, explore, broaden your horizons, and seek new experiences that challenge yet ultimately uplift you. The fiery, Jupiterian nature of Sagittarius allows for a positive vibe where you can put yourself out there and shatter people’s expectations of you. Best of all, Jupiter is forming a sextile to the Moon now, and so he can keep a watchful eye on her to make sure that her energy here is greatly supported and held.

And guess what! The two other squares from the last Scorpio Moon period - Saturn and Mercury - have both turned into sextiles as well. You will find a lot of help and support from Mercury for sharing your wisdom, and expressing that zanier, wilder part of yourself that you generally keep hidden. Speech and communication are both much easier. And Saturn will help to keep you grounded - this is honestly a good thing considering how out-of-hand the fiery nature of Sag can become without a healthy dose of realism and practicality. Don’t worry about getting lost in the clouds.

THE BAD

The Sun and Moon have an off-kilter relationship during this time. That square they are forming will not make things easy - you may really want to put yourself out there and go explore the unknown (both in yourself and outside of you), but the opportunities to do so keep getting hijacked. Plans change, people bail, and cars get stuck in traffic and make you late to the party. This is a test - how committed are you? How much resistance will you patiently deal with? How much do you really want to grow?

Venus and the Moon also start off in a bad way here - but generally these two sectmates (both of the nighttime sect, remember) can work things out. It may be initially awkward as you try and share your joy and joviality with those around you, but eventually your compatriots will warm up to you.

THE WYRD

JUPITER MAGIC. Do a Jupiter ritual in the evening hour of Jupiter on Thursday night after the Moon has gone into Sag. Jupiter is strong (in a place of sectmate, meaning he is in a sign ruled by Saturn, also of the night sect), and the applying aspect from the Moon in his yang, masculine sign opens a fantastic portal for abundance and expansion - especially related to finances.

The Greek Magical Papyri (PGM) identifies Sag Moon as a great period for doing solar and lunar magic as well. These two lights have a special way of strengthening your magical power that the other five planets can’t touch. Find a Sun or Moon hour in the next few days and get to work.

Astrological Signatures

Moon in Sagittarius: Peregrine. This is a neutral placement, leaning a bit more towards the negative. The Moon has no essential dignity and is not in the place of a sectmate. On the plus side, she tends to encourage big picture thinking, creative expansion, and broadening of experience during this time. The timbre is optimistic and hopeful. This is a good day for pushing your boundaries, getting out of your comfort zone, and trying new things.

Triplicity and Quadruplicity: Bicorporeal Fire. Bicorporeality indicates activities and moods which are a mean between the extremes of movability (cardinality) and fixedness, not as erratic and changing as the former, but not as solid and steady as the latter. The fire element indicates the realm of spirit and ideals, and the Moon in a fire sign often expresses more enthusiasm, spontaneity, and creative, heart-centered expression.

Moon’s ruler: Superior Sextile to Jupiter in Aquarius. There is moderate support for the Moon in grounding her significations, and the groundedness of long-term plans will come about fairly easily.

• Superior Sextile to Mercury in Aquarius. This is an easy, productive period for communication and the use of the mind. Ideas and conversation will flow freely. With the nature of this sextile, conversation and the exchange of ideas will be most supported.

• Superior Square to Venus in Pisces: Interpersonal harmony tenses up. You will find obstacles and roadblocks coming from other people. There is a greater challenge with people getting along.

• Superior Sextile to Saturn in Aquarius. Hard lessons that come through which effectively push people closer towards maturity and wisdom.
