Throughout the day, the Moon will travel through the middle of the sign of libra, completing all the aspects which she had begun yesterday. The aspects to Venus and the Sun will perfect very early in the morning, at which point she will enter the “flowing forth” or “separating” period. During this time, the energy and dynamism generated during the application period begins to fade away around us. If any activities or events of particular note occurred for you yesterday, take this time to integrate it.
Around noontime EST the Moon will then flow forth from her applications to Saturn and Jupiter. If you found yesterday that, despite the rulership and retrograde status, you had to deal with Saturnine opposition from people around you or negative self-talk, that will begin to fade away. Alternatively, if you felt the emotional support and buoyancy from Jupiter more keenly, be aware that that will also return to baseline soon.
The Moon will begin to form two new aspects today: a sextile to Mars and square to Mercury. Moon and Mars in sextile generally create a dynamic, cooperative energy and atmosphere. This may come to play in our work, where we agree more with coworkers and projects run more smoothly; or in our own inner life, as what we want (Mars) and what we need (Moon) harmonize.
All in all, the sextile makes this energy more cooperative and productive, as opposed to the aggressive and infuriating circumstances that can sometimes develop from squares and oppositions between the Moon and Mars. The Mars sextile will perfect around 11pm EST.
The square to Mercury will be applying throughout the day. The Moon-Mercury square generally creates discord between the needs and expressions of the discursive mind and the emotions. Because Mercury naturally has little dignity in Cancer on its own and the Moon hosts or rules Cancer, our emotional self will surely win out over our mental self. Use this as an opportunity to quiet the mind and listen to the heart.
Throughout the day, the Moon will approach the fixed star Spica, considered by some to be the most auspicious fixed star in the sky, and said to provide success in endeavors, kindness and compassion from others, riches and abundance, and general good fortune. Each of us has a chance to receive some unexpected good favor and grace as the Moon approaches this star, starting around 5pm EST, and perfecting the conjunction to Spica will perfect at midnight.
These are all the aspects of note. The copresence of the Sun and Venus with Mars in late Leo is beginning to intensify, and so are the overcoming trines that Venus and the Sun make to Jupiter. We will continue to benefit from each of these in some way or another for the next several weeks.
