CAPRICORN AND CORONA
As this week goes on, Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto will continue to enter into closer aspect with each other in Capricorn, while Saturn gets ready to leave this sign.
The continuing buildup of tension created by this upcoming triple cunjunction is quite apparent with the pervasive fear of Corona Virus. Mars, associated with fevers and sickness, is coming into closer contact with the God of death. While the planet most closely associated with good health and vitality - Jupiter - is in its fall in Capricorn besieged by two malefics. We have a quite literal picture of good health being taken down by destructive forces on all sides. The fact that this is manifesting as a major crisis with people’s bodies make sense since this is an earth sign, and Capricorn is the sign most prone to affect social institutions and governing bodies, as COVID-19 is currently doing.
That being said, since Jupiter is here and is still a very benefic planet, debilitated or not, I can’t help but think that this whole corona virus thing is not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. We’ve had several major pandemic scares in the last few decades, from SARS to Swine flu and Zika and so on, and none of them amounted to the global destruction that some people feared. Jupiter’s involvement in all this leads me to believe that this will go the same way - the negative predispositions of Mars and Pluto are offset by the life-loving nature of Jupiter being so present. And Two of the malefics involved - Mars and Saturn - are each in a strong essential dignity, and their significations are therefore more disposed to be constructive, and less damaging in the long run.
In any case, I imagine that this week will foretell some major developments related to this, since the moon ingresses into Capricorn this Tuesday. In classical astrology, the moon functions as a kind of trigger or catalyst that takes situations and energies that are brewing in the heavens and brings them down to earth. In other words, the physical results of an astrological configuration will not become perceptible until the moon has arrived toe ground and bring those results down to the earth. A Venus-Jupiter conjunction may last for over a week, but it’s not until the Moon forms and aspect to them that the significations of this conjunction will manifest in some sort of concrete way.
Wednesday the 18th will be the day that the moon passes over all the planets in Capricorn and grounds their significations into the mundane world. I would expect there to be some major developments related to the corona virus to happen on this day, or the day afterwards as the aspects separate and the significations take full form.
But this quadruple conjunction between the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto (with saturn on the fringe) does not just have to indicate changes on a grand scale concerning something like the Corona Virus - this will also affect you in your personal life as well. Some people will be feeling this Capricorn energy in the form of major interpersonal transformations and boundary-setting, others will feel it in the form of a changing job and career type landscape, while still others are actually getting sick with Corona or something else. Whatever the case may be, you can expect some pivotal shifts and results to happen on Wednesday, or in a day or two following it as this energy settles down.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
As three of the seventraditional planets are spending all their time this week in Capricorn, this sums up where most of the action will be this week.
Besides this, we still have Venus in Taurus, which is on its own a good indicator for questions related to body, health, and vitality. Take care of yourself. good time for the arts. As Venus travels through and perfects her trine to all the business in Capricorn, that energy will lighten up, though that aspect won’t perfect (become exact) until next week. Venus in Taurus will also help people in their interpersonal relationships, especially romantic ones. While you may not meet that special someone right now if you are single, those who have a romantic partner will have more opportunities to nurture and be nurtered by their loved ones.
Mercury is picking up speed in the sign of Aquarius. We are well out of the retrograde period now, and the placement in Aquarius is more positive for him, as he feels more at home in air signs since he occupies his own triplictly. This is a good time to express what is on your mind and speak up for yourself in group settings. Take advantage of this brief pause to tell vocalize your truth to people, especially if its something you’ve been putting off. Try and do this early in the week before Tuesday, at which point Mercury moves into Pisces which is both his detriment and fall. While this placement is helpful for emotional reflection and other non-linear considerations (best done on your own or with someone you trust), any activities that requires a strong voice or a conncection to your own truth will be weakened in their effectiveness. This is also a bad time to make any major purchases, sign any contracts, or any kind of public speaking.
On Thursday the 19th, the Sun ingresses into Aries. This will greatly strengthen everyone’s vitality and force for living. It’s officially springtime! Since this is the sun’s exaltation, this period is excellent for being new projections and endeavors, as the passion and drive to see it through is easier to maintain and keep strong. Check your own chart to see which house the sun will occupy - chances are you will have new creativity and excitement spurred on related to the topics of this house.
