April 12th – Moon in Sagittarius
This day will see the moon in Sagittarius. An interesting placement for the moon, she tends to encourage big picture thinking, creative expansion, and broadening of experience during this time. This is a good day for pushing your boundaries, getting out of your comfort zone, and trying new things. Learning and broadening of one’s horizons are also very supported here People with lots of placements in fire signs will take to this very well.
Unfortunately, she does not form an aspect to her sign ruler Jupiter and so doesn’t have much help in the way of manifesting or grounding what she signifies. This is a good day for brainstorming and tossing ideas around, but not necessarily a great day for getting anything major done that will have long-term effects. She is also received into her detriment by the fact that Jupiter is in Capricorn, which will make this Sagitarrius periods (and all of them until Jupiter leaves Capricorn next year, for that matter) less overtly optimistic and expansive than usual.
The moon perfects a trine to the sun today, which is very auspicious for general harmony between your intentions and the world around you. I wouldn’t expect there to be too many distractions or events that get in the way of you accomplishing what you want to accomplish. Whatever you decided to do today, you will probably be very productive at it.
April 13th – 14th – Moon in Capricorn
I don’t foresee the middle of this week to be the easiest of periods.
First off, the moon occupies her detriment in Capricorn the next two days. This is difficult on its own. Here the Capricornian emphasis on duty, social cohesion, and work ethic tends to overpower the moon’s emphasis on nurture and self-care. You can oftentimes see people born with the Moon in Capricorn tend to table their own emotional needs for some greater good or simply preserving the status quo. Oftentimes they will be forced to do so as a child. Outer events won’t conspire to make you feel emotionally comfortable; hard work and discipline will be asked of you instead.
The first day will be fairly uneventful, but the 14th will be rather averse. The Moon conjoins malefic Pluto and a very debilitated Jupiter, neither of which go very far to help the moon’s situation. There is a strong potential for the Pluto-Moon conjunction to bring up a lot of unconscious patterns and behaviors that can overwhelm you and leave you feeling depressed and confused, without much help processing it.
The moon perfects the conjunction to Jupiter almost immediately after she perfects the conjunction to Pluto. You may find a helping hand or some kind of support from the universe come in to aid you through whatever Pluto brings up, or you may find yourself shielded from this Pluto business altogether – perhaps something happens that would depress you, but for some reason you decide not to entertain the depression. In any case, some kind of grace will come in to your life to keep the developments with Pluto from becoming too severe.
April 15th – 17th – Moon in Aquarius
After Capricorn the Moon moves into a not-much-better situation in the sign of Aquarius. And this is why I say that this week won’t be the easiest of weeks – after leaving her detriment in Capricorn the Moon becomes peregrine in Aquarius, and applies conjunctions to both of the two traditional malefic planets.
First, the moon forms a conjunction to Aquarius’ ruler Saturn. The positive part of this is that whatever the moon signifies will have more of a chance of grounding and becoming a reality – it won’t just be a pipe dream, since the moon’s host is there to concretize and actualize her significations.
The negative part of this is that the significations will almost entirely be about painful self-growth. Sacrificing one’s own needs comes up again as it did in Capricorn, only this time it’s for more humanitarian, idealistic pursuits, and less about practical reasons such as social cohension as it was beforehand. Your own thought processes and emotional needs may become harder to access as they are eclipsed by other bigger picture considerations which privelage the whole over any individual part. I wouldn’t be surprised if some kind of event or situation related to the corona virus affects you during theses days, especially if you have planets in Aquarius in your own natal chart.
After separating from her conjunction to Saturn, she goes on to conjoin Mars. We may all have difficulties with anger and frustration during this time, or some events or situations arising that stir one’s ire. It will be easier to lose our temper and lash out with our words, especially with the sextile to Mercury in Aries here. It is important to keep a cool head during these days.
On the positive side, the conjunction to the moon will create more energy and drive, and you will probably be more productive during these next few days. A key theme for Mars in Aquarius is righteous indignation, and you often find people with this placement natally fighting for the rights of the poor and marginalized, or engaging in activities that aid the downtrodden and derelicts of society. You may find situations arising over these couple of days that rouse you to defend and help those people who need care.
One positive that is coming from this moon in Aquarius placement is the trine to Venus – you may find unexpected grace come in the way of helpful words from other people, or a slight increase in your financial situation. Friends will be more likely to rally to your side over these few days. Artists and musicians may find more creative inspiration as well.
April 18th – Moon in Pisces
After the moon travels through Saturn’s two signs, we end this week back where we started – with the moon in a sign ruled by Jupiter.
The moon in Pisces is a much more positive placement. As a triplicity lord of Water signs, she has some dignity here. This is an excellent day for emotional exploration and self-care. Deep, soul-sharing conversations with people close to you will also be easier to carry out during this time. Visions may also come to you.
However, it can be easy to get caught up in your own emotional process in Pisces. This will be exacerbated by the conjunction to Neptune, which brings a level of delusion, illusion, and cloudiness to whatever it touches. Be mindful that you don’t get too lost in your own experience and perceptions, and strive to come back to reality.
One thing that will make this easier is the fact that the moon forms a sextile to her ruler, Jupiter. Unlike in Sagittarius at the beginning of the week, now the significations and work done while the moon is here have a greater chance to ground into reality and become something. The emotional and inner work you do during this time has the potential to be long-lasting, especially considering the earth-sign placement of The moon’s lord, Jupiter.
As always, if you have any questions or would like to explore this more thoroughly in your own natal chart, feel free to book a session with me. I would be more than happy to explore this transit with your in more detail.
